On this day in music history: March 19, 1987 - “Rock The House”, the debut album by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince is released. Produced by Pete Harris, Will Smith, “Jazzy Jeff” Townes, Lawrence Goodman, and Dana Goodman and is recorded circa 1985-86 in Philadelphia, PA. The album includes the Philly rap duo’s first three singles including “The Magnificent Jazzy Jeff”, “Just One Of Those Days”, and “Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble”. The album is originally released on Philadelphia indie label Word-Up Records. After they are signed to Jive Records later in 1987,  ”Girls” will be re-recorded and included on the reissued version of the album in late 1988 following the breakthrough success of their second album “He’s The DJ, I’m The Rapper”. “Rock The House” will peak at #24 on the Billboard R&B album chart and #83 on the Top 200.
